Lumpy Lining no Longer!

Dear lumpy lining,

I know that I worked hard on you.  During our five hour car ride we spent some great time together, getting to know each other better, but I've decided that we shouldn't see each other anymore.  It's not me, it's you.  Sorry.

Sincerely,

Me

Ok, in semi-seriousness...  I wore my skirt one day.  I spent the majority of the day hating the way them hem looked, being frustrated that I hadn't realized it sooner, and as soon as I was able, I scooby-doo scampered to the bathroom and swapped the skirt in favor of my favorite pair of jeans.  This was NOT how I wanted to spend my first day in my skirt ( I mean really, you put so much into an article of clothing, you want to LOOOVE it!).
This vivid yellow is definitely one of
my favorite colours.  A main staple
for my Fall Colour Palette.

In my complete faith that the skirt would turn out splendiferously, it was the only "bottom half" I had packed for the entire weekend (or at least 'formal' bottom half).  So, since I was supposed to wear it the next day as well, I spent a furious 15 minutes in bathroom, sitting next to my steamer,  ripping out stitches.  I un-stitched the lining, steamed the skirt, and voilà! The skirt I always knew was there!

All prettied up with my
lovely hem.
I proudly was able to wear my skirt for the whole day!  It is so encouraging to receive compliments on your outfit and be able to smile and say, "I made it!"

My mama graciously took a photo for me, so I have evidence of the success.  Please forgive my squinty-eye face.  The sun was very bright!

So, there you have it. Skirt: made by me.  Blouse: hand-me-down (thank-you thank-you roommate!  I love the top!).  Belt: thrifted.
